PC06 Compressor discharge temperature protection
What the control is telling you
Discharge temperature is too high, so the compressor is stopped to protect it.
Applies to: DLCURAH18-60 AAK/ABK single-zone heat pump outdoor units (18K-60K, regular and High Heat)
Likely causes
- Low refrigerant charge / leak
- Refrigerant restriction
- Poor outdoor airflow
- Faulty TP sensor reading high
Test and repair steps
- Warning: Turn off and lock out power at the outdoor disconnect and wait for the inverter capacitors to discharge before touching the outdoor board or compressor wiring.
- Check charge and leak-test the system.
- Check the outdoor coil and fan.
- Check the line set for kinks or restrictions; check line length vs. charge (18K: 24.6 ft before adding charge, 0.69 oz/ft beyond).
- Check the TP sensor is attached to the discharge line and reads correctly.
