Midea · Heat pump
LC06 Inverter module (IPM) high temperature protection
What the control is telling you
The IPM heat sink is overheating.
Applies to: DLCURAH18-60 AAK/ABK single-zone heat pump outdoor units (18K-60K, regular and High Heat)
Likely causes
- Poor airflow over the outdoor unit / blocked fan
- High ambient with dirty coil
- Heat sink loose or poor thermal contact
- Board fault
Test and repair steps
- Warning: Turn off and lock out power at the outdoor disconnect and wait for the inverter capacitors to discharge before touching the outdoor board or compressor wiring.
- Clean the outdoor coil and clear obstructions; confirm the fan runs.
- Check installation clearances for hot-air recirculation.
- Check the IPM heat sink is secure.
- If the fault repeats with good airflow, replace the outdoor board.
