PU DC bus capacitor charging fault

What the control is telling you

The outdoor board cannot charge its DC bus capacitor to normal voltage.

Applies to: Gree Sapphire 9-24k (SAP..HP230V1A), Livo GEN4 30-36k (4LIV..HP230V1A), Vireo GEN3 9-24k (3VIR..HP115/230V1A), Multi21+ 18-24k multi-zone (MULTI..HP230V1CO)

Likely causes

• Supply voltage outside 180-260 VAC
• Reactor (L) wiring loose or reactor failed
• Outdoor board (AP1) fault

Test and repair steps

1. Measure the supply at XT L-N (normal range 210-240 VAC, limit 180-260 VAC) and correct it if out of range.
2. Warning: Kill power and let the outdoor board capacitors bleed down (about 20 min, or meter the DC bus below 20 V) before touching the inverter board.
3. Check the reactor connections and test the reactor.
4. Run the unit 1 minute and measure across the electrolytic capacitor; if it stays below 200 V with good supply and reactor, replace AP1.
