220 Gas valve position not detected (reed switch)

Medium severity I-Series Plus 150K and smaller

What the control is telling you

The reed switches (sensors) cannot detect the correct position of the gas valve.

Applies to: I-Series Plus boilers — 150K BTU and smaller (Combi and Solo)

Likely causes

  • Reed switch mispositioned on the front of the gas valve
  • Incorrect gas valve parameters
  • Loose, damaged or wet wiring between reed switch and PC Board

Test and repair steps

  1. Confirm the reed switch on the front of the gas valve is seated in the proper location (see diagrams in the source manual, p.15).
  2. Verify the gas valve parameters, or re-enter them per 'Enter Gas Valve Values from Integrated Controller' in the Gas Valve Assembly Replacement Instructions (800000253).
  3. Check the wiring from the reed switch to the PC Board for loose, damaged or wet connections.
