EU Compressor slowed - module running hot
What the control is telling you
Everything keeps running but the compressor speed is cut because the inverter module is too hot.
Applies to: Gree Sapphire 9-24k (SAP..HP230V1A), Livo GEN4 30-36k (4LIV..HP230V1A), Vireo GEN3 9-24k (3VIR..HP115/230V1A)
Likely causes
- Not enough thermal paste between the IPM module and heat sink
- Heat sink screws loose
- High load or poor airflow at the outdoor unit
- Board fault
Test and repair steps
- Warning: Kill power and let the outdoor board capacitors bleed down (about 20 min, or meter the DC bus below 20 V) before touching the inverter board.
- Check the thermal paste under the IPM module on AP1 and that the heat sink is tight; refresh the paste if dry.
- Clean the outdoor coil and clear the outdoor unit.
- If it keeps happening, replace AP1.
