High severity 59SC6A

What the control is telling you

A non-condensing furnace program was found on this condensing model.

Applies to: Carrier 59SC6A

Likely causes

  • Wrong program loaded on the control

Test and repair steps

  1. Read the Model Program Number from the furnace rating plate.
  2. Reprogram the control with that number using the supported mobile app over NFC (remove 115-V power from the board first) or the correct super plug.
  3. Never load a program number different from the rating plate; parameter options will not match design values.
  4. Check the inF menu shows the right program number and software version.
  5. If the code remains after reprogramming, replace the control and program the new one.
  6. Run a full heat cycle to confirm.
